New Year Resolutions & A Lie –Activity & fun family game for New Years

Ages: 3 years and up

Materials Required: Notepad/sheet of paper/printed resource below & pen

Time duration: Approx 40 minutes

1)Start by setting New Year resolutions – the more family members that participate, the better!

Discuss everything that went well for you last year, and goals that everyone wants to set for themselves for the new year.

The printable above can also be referred to and you can note down the points in your notebook/ blank sheet of paper. Printing it is not mandatory.

But make sure to write about the points included – favorite memories, things you’re grateful for, lessons learnt and things you are proud of from this year. Additionally, places you would like to visit, ways you can help others, things you would want to get better at, things you are looking forward to and new things you would like to try in the coming year.

3) Lastly, play this fun game : Two resolutions & A Lie. Every family member has to announce 2 resolutions and a pretend one and the others have to guess which one is the lie. This also serves as a great memory game since New Year resolutions were discussed right at the beginning of this activity ;)

To make it more child friendly /age-appropriate, you can ask your child to draw instead of write in the above printable. You can also make it age appropriate by switching the language and words accordingly.

Here’s wishing you a very Happy New Year from Asteria Parenting! See you in the new year ☺
